Account and Data Deletion

This page explains how you can request deletion of your Sunsethue account and associated data, or request deletion of selected data while keeping your account.

Delete your account in the mobile app

  1. Open the Sunsethue app.
  2. Go to the More tab.
  3. Make sure you are signed in.
  4. Tap Delete account and confirm the deletion prompt.

This deletes your Sunsethue app account and associated app alert data from our systems, except where limited information must be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or accounting purposes.

Delete your account on the website

  1. Sign in at sunsethue.com/account.
  2. Open your account page.
  3. Click Delete account.
  4. Click Delete account again to confirm.

Website account deletion disables or removes account data connected to your Sunsethue account, including saved website locations, Sunsethue Alerts records, and Sunsethue API access where applicable.

Delete by email

If you cannot access the app or website, send a deletion request to [email protected]. Include the email address linked to your Sunsethue account and say whether you want full account deletion or only selected data deleted.

We may ask for additional information to verify that the account belongs to you before completing the request.

Selective data deletion

You can request deletion of some data without deleting your Sunsethue account. Selective deletion requests are handled by email only. Send your request to [email protected] and describe the specific data you want deleted.

Examples include deleting saved locations, alert preferences, optional feedback messages, or other optional data connected to your account. If the requested data is required to provide an active feature, we may need to disable that feature to complete the request.

Data deleted or kept

When you request full account deletion, we delete or deactivate the Sunsethue account data we control, including authentication records, saved locations, alert settings, alert delivery identifiers, and API access where applicable.

We may retain limited records when required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or accounting purposes. Payment and subscription records may also remain with payment providers such as Google Play, Apple, Stripe, or RevenueCat according to their own legal and operational requirements.

We aim to respond to deletion requests within one week. Some retained records may be kept for up to three years where this is necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or accounting reasons.
