Changes in update times

07.10.2025

To improve the accuracy of the forecasts, two extra daily runs have been introduced, the 12z run has been extended, and the update times of the 0z and 12z have been moved forward by two hours.

Introducing two extra daily runs

The weather model that Sunsethue relies on provides 4 daily runs: the 00z, 06z, 12z and 18z runs. Previously, only the 00z and 12z were used by the Sunsethue model, meaning that the forecasts updated twice per day. With the addition of the 06z and 18z runs, the forecasts will now update four times each day, ensuring more up-to-date predictions.

Changes in update times of existing runs

The update times of the two existing (00z and 12z) runs have been moved two hours forward. The update times are now: 04:40 (00z), 10:20 (06z), 16:40 (12z), 22:20 (18z) UTC. The 12z has been extended and now updates the forecasts for the next 78h (like the 00z). The 06z and 18z update just the first 28h.
